The department hosts many cutting-edge research programs including Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Photochemistry, Computational Chemistry, Materials, Energy Related Materials, and Environmental Chemistry. Requirements
GPA 3.0 or higher for the terms that include your last 60 semester or 90 quarter credits
The GRE is NOT required for admission to the program
English score: TOEFL internet-based > 79, IELTS > 6.5 (and a minimum score of 5 on each subscale). Except for the citizenship of the US, Canada, UK, New Zealand, or Australia. If you have an undergraduate degree, with attendance of at least two years, from an institution in one of these countries, you will not be required to provide additional evidence of English proficiency.

The Department may cover the application fee cost for exceptionally competitive applicants.
What financial support is offered?
The department offers financial support to students in the form of teaching assistantships and research assistantships. All applications for admission to the Graduate School constitute an application for financial assistance; it is not necessary to file a separate request. The current support package includes:
~$28,000 annual assistantship salary
plus:
Full cost of tuition (up to $15,900 a year)
80% of health insurance premiums
$1,000 one-time signing bonus
Other scholarships are available through Utah State University. Students are notified via their student email account when applications are available.
